My name is Ilsa and I am 27 years old, married to a wonderful man, Mikaél.
I love food, my family and our pets – Sushi, our cat, and Lilo, our Boston Terrier, and the thought of one day being a mother.
I’m a Capricorn – my birthday is just after Christmas – not great planning on my parent’s part 😉
My father is German and my mother is from Cape Town. I’m born and bred in Johannesburg.
I decided to start a blog to document my fertility struggles and journey to falling pregnant.
After a while I thought why should I only document my fertility struggles, why not document everything that’s me and the things I love?
A bit more about my fertility struggles:
I naively always thought that because I am younger, I can fall pregnant pretty easily. Needless to say this is not the case.
Infertility doesn’t discriminate against age, race or genes and more and more young women today suffer from endometriosis and infertility.
My fertility specialist told me that they are still trying to find out if one is born with the endometriosis gene or whether having endometriosis is the reason for infertility and if infertility and endometriosis go hand in hand.
My doctor had advised me a few years ago that I will have difficulties in falling pregnant, so in the back of my mind I always remembered that when my husband and I start trying for a baby it will most likely take a while before we’ll fall pregnant.
