20 – 27 June 2013
I was still on the drip which my mother in law administered because she’s a registered nurse.
My heart rate came down, temperature was fine and I seemed to be healing.
My dog Lilo kept me company and made full use of the heater during my week at my mother in law’s house 🙂
28th June 2013
We were due to celebrate my father in law’s 60th birthday in the bush in Botswana, but because I was still recovering from the operation, we decided against it.
My husband still went and I was going to stay behind at my parents’ house for the weekend.
The morning, I was suddenly feeling week, had a temperature and the shivers.
Had a chat with the surgeon and I had to make my way to the hospital ASAP.
I had developed an infection and needed to be admitted to hospital for further tests.
Got antibiotics and these in turn caused another infection.
I spent another 7 days in hospital and was finally released on 4th July 2013.
I spent a total of 22 days in hospital. This was not a fun experience and I would not wish this on anyone. The paid I went through was horrible and I’m glad this is over.
